What the webinar covered:

Liz Jones, Policy Director at NCF and Regulatory Inspector, Ed Watkinson discussed the background to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and how it ultimately has led to the development of Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS). This session will be helpful for people to refresh themselves prior to the important LPS consultation which we are expecting over the summer.

More about our speakers:

Ed Watkinson has been a care assistant, registered manager, area manager, care manager and senior commissioner. He has also served as a Planning and Commissioning Manager for Buckinghamshire County Council and as Methodology Developer and Regulatory Inspector for the Commission for Social Care Inspection. Most recently, he has worked as a Regulation Manager for Barchester Healthcare.

 

Liz Jones is the Policy Director of the National Care Forum and has a strong background in social policy, care and support and health and housing, with over 20 years of experience across the civil service, local government and the charity sector, including Methodist Homes (MHA), Nottingham City Council and Manchester City Council.
