Anthony Collins are hosting a Safeguarding in the Community webinar series. The series is designed to help housing and care providers understand their safeguarding responsibilities and offers practical guidance on how to meet them day-to-day, in particular for those providing care in the community.

The series includes three one-hour webinars. You will need to register separately for each webinar through the links below:

• Session one: Safeguarding in the community: Mental capacity: Anthony Collins will be joined by The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) to explore mental capacity, refreshing on key principles and beginning to delve into more complex, real-life scenarios, such as how to respond when an individual repeatedly makes decisions that may increase potential risks despite advice and support. • Session two: Safeguarding in the community: What does a good partnership look like?: Anthony Collins will again be joined by SCIE to explore partnership working in the context of safeguarding and how housing and care providers can do this effectively in order to meet their safeguarding responsibilities. This session will also look at the frameworks that underpin multi-agency working, safeguarding investigations, domestic homicide reviews/domestic abuse related death reviews, the Safeguarding Adults Board and more. • Session three: Safeguarding in the community: Delivering day-to-day: This session will explore scenarios commonly faced by housing and care providers in the community, including hoarding, self neglect, third-party abuse and cuckooing. The session will discuss how to manage these situations in a way that promotes safety and well-being while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
