Malling Grange, a new luxury 70-bed residential and dementia care home, will open on
Lucks Hill, West Malling, in Autumn 2026, bringing luxury hotel-inspired living,
advanced care technology and Avante Care & Support’s most environmentally friendly
home to date. The new development follows the recent completion of Wain House,
Avante’s care home in Westgate-on-Sea, reflecting the organisation’s continued
investment in modern, high-quality care environments across Kent and London.
Designed around luxurious interior themes, Malling Grange offers more than a
traditional care setting, with spacious en-suite bedrooms, elegant lounges, a café,
cinema, hair and beauty salon, library and landscaped gardens with outdoor terraces.
The first residents to move into Malling Grange will transfer from Avante’s nearby care
home, Pilgrims View in Snodland. They have been involved in the project from the very
beginning, helping to choose the names of the suites and following the home’s
development through regular progress updates. Many have enjoyed seeing the build take shape and are now looking forward to becoming part of the West Malling
community.
Advanced Care Technology
Malling Grange blends premium interiors with modern clinical support, including:
• Digital care-planning and nurse-call systems
• Secure digital medication management
• High-speed connectivity for telehealth and family communication
• Therapy and wellbeing spaces, including a hair salon and tailored activities
spaces
• Acoustic monitoring technology supporting Avante’s Better Sleep initiative,
helping residents enjoy safer, more restful nights with fewer disturbances
The home is arranged into four individually themed care suites, creating a warm,
familiar and personalised environment.
Avante’s Most Environmentally Friendly Home
Malling Grange sets a new sustainability standard for Avante Care & Support, featuring:
• Air-source heat pumps for low-carbon heating
• Underfloor heating for thermal efficiency (and giving more usable floor space)
• Solar panels generating on-site renewable energy
• Expected EPC Rating: A (7) – highly energy efficient
• Enhanced biodiversity, with mature trees, hedgerows and sensory planting
• EV-ready parking and cycle storage
These measures reduce environmental impact while supporting resident comfort and
wellbeing.
Meeting a Growing Local Need
Demand for high-quality elderly care in the area continues to rise, with the local
catchment population expected to reach 164,721 by the end of 2026 and a projected
need for 1,030 care beds. Malling Grange will help address this shortfall by providing a
modern, purpose-built home for residential, respite and dementia care.
