Not-for-profit quality care for over 25 years

Double success at national care awards

Sanctuary Care is delighted to have scooped two prestigious national accolades at this year’s ‘virtual’ Care Home Awards 2020 ceremony.

Staff and residents are celebrating after the leading care home provider won the Best for Use of Technology Award for the way it uses its bespoke care planning app ‘kradle’ in its homes. Meanwhile its ‘Outstanding’ CQC rated Lammas House Residential Care Home in Coventry, won a Highly Commended place in the Best for Communication Award, for the exceptional way the team communicates with residents and their loved ones.

Sanctuary Care’s Director of Operations, Sheila O’Connor said: “The success of kradle in our homes has been phenomenal and we are enormously proud of the teams who created it and the staff in our homes who have truly embraced it, using it to further enrich the lives of their residents.

“Home Manager Rukmi Silva and her team at Lammas House are beyond outstanding in our eyes. The way they communicate with each other and their residents and loved ones is truly exceptional and we are so proud of them.”

Sanctuary Care is rolling out kradle to all its homes (over 100 across England and Scotland). Instead of filling out paper-based care plans, staff can efficiently and securely update electronic care plans at the point of care, using dedicated iPhones, freeing up more time to spend with their residents.

kradle has been developed in-house by a dedicated project team, a partnership between Sanctuary Group’s Technology Team and Sanctuary Care staff. Because it has been developed in-house, it can be continuously improved and adapted internally in real time.

Staff caring for residents provide regular feedback, so have a direct role to play in its evolution.

For Rukmi Silva and her team, communication is central to the happiness of her residents and their loved ones.
