The two dementia units at our Deerlands home have been using the latest technology to keep their residents in touch with the outside world.
The home usually visits regular Memory Cafe sessions at a nearby community centre but with all trips currently on hold, the Deerlands team have been using iPads and laptops to make sure their residents don’t miss out on such activities as weekly keep fit, arts and crafts and live entertainment.
And inspired by that success, the home has also had remote tea parties, with live entertainment provided online by singer Keeley May.
