Small Charity Week 2024

Small Charity Week is a time for smaller charities to shout about their incredible work and demonstrate the vital role they play in our society.

The week of 24th to 28th June will see a huge celebration of small charities. We’re looking forward to featuring some of the small charities that we’re lucky enough to count as NCF members.

Why is Small Charity Week needed?

  • Increasing demand, falling income and increased costs, small charities are under more pressure than ever
  • If things don’t get better, more small charities will be forced to close their doors, which could leave people vulnerable at a time when they need them most
  • We need people to recognise and understand the impact small charities make

What needs to change to help support small charities?

  • When small charities are supported and resourced properly, they have the potential to create stronger communities
  • Utilising the expertise of small charities ensuring their knowledge and insights help to guide future change
  • Encourage commitment from large charities to be a partner of change and work alongside small charities to understand the drivers of and barriers to progression
  • Small charities must be heard, represented and connected. So, communities everywhere aren’t just surviving but thriving.

Small charities need help to make sure their communities are stronger tomorrow than they are today:

  • Calling on the public: Donate money, give time, share support
  • Encouraging MPs: Attending debates, advocate for small charities in policy and legislation
  • Big charities: Amplify the contribution of small charities to their cause, share best practice
