The Global Ageing Network, The Heritage Foundation, and BDU Heritage Center for Gerontology are excited to sponsor this webinar series to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on older adults.  The webinar will take place on:

7 July 2020 8 AM-9 AM (US EST)

The series will include different themes during each webinar and will be held on July 7 and 21, August 4 and 18, and September 1 and 15.

The discussion will begin with a discussion on Standards of Care during COVID-19. The Webinar will include a 60-minute session via ZOOM conference, 3 panelists, and a Q and A. Panel members include:

  • Joyce Khouri Eid, Interfaith Eldercare Group, Lebanon
  • Marcus Riley, Ballycara, Australia

ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Katherine S. McGilton (RN, PhD) is a Senior Scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-University Health Network and a Professor at the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing, University of Toronto. She founded the International Consortium of the Professional Practice of Nurses in Long-Term Care.

Joyce Khoury Eid is the Director of the Lebanon Interfaith Eldercare Group, Lebanon. The group shares practices and education among a variety of different religious faith. Over the past three years, the group has grown to be a model for progress and peace for older adults.

Marcus Riley is Chief Executive Officer of BallyCara, a charitable organization and public benevolent institution which provides accommodation, health, and care services for older people as well as a range of support and advisory functions to service-based industries. Marcus Riley is the immediate past chair and current Director of the Global Ageing Network and a member of the Steering Committee for the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP).
