Easter Egg-citement at Luton Care Home

15 April 2019

Easter came early at Trefoil House care home in Luton as residents, families, staff and special guest the Mayor of Luton, Councillor Naseem Ayub  joined together for their annual Easter Fair.

The care home, managed by not for profit provider Quantum Care, laid on an array of Easter-themed stalls and games for young and old to enjoy, including a raffle, tombola, Hook-a Duck, Easter Egg and Spoon race, cake stall and a range of gifts and cards in the home’s very own shop – named ‘The Hatters’.

The highlight of the day was the Easter egg hunt, overseen by a giant Easter Bunny. Elderly residents joined in with the children to find Easter eggs that had been hidden all around the extensive gardens. The competition was fierce, but eventually everybody had their fair share of chocolate goodies!

The Mayor of Luton Councillor Naseem Ayub said, “It was fantastic to see so many people at the Easter event and to have such a diverse crowd. It was particularly good to see young and older people mixing together so well. I also enjoyed meeting some of the wonderful volunteers and staff who are involved in every aspect of the home. I had such a warm welcome, and will always remember this as a really great visit – keep up the good work!”

Home Manager Julie Hutchins said, “It has been such a lovely afternoon and great to see so many families coming together to have fun and enjoy themselves. We also had lots of local visitors coming to support the event. We are so lucky here at Trefoil House to be part of such a close-knit community, who help with all sorts of things such as running the gardening club, running the O’Brian’s Bar and raising funds for the home.”
