Triple Success For Borough Care Homes

5 November 2018

Three of Borough Care’s homes for older people have recently been inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all received a ‘good in all areas’ rating.

Borough Care is the largest not for profit provider of care for older people in Stockport and has eleven homes in the borough.  CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England and, as part of its role, inspects and rates residential care homes and nursing homes.

The three Borough Care homes receiving the ‘good in all areas’ rating were Silverdale in Bredbury, Shepley House in Hazel Grove and Lisburne Court in Offerton.

Dr Mark Ward, CEO at Borough Care, says:

“It’s great that the hard work and dedication of our teams at Silverdale, Shepley House and Lisburne Court has resulted in positive ratings from the Care Quality Commission. At Borough Care, we pride ourselves on our flexible approach to caring for our residents. We know that choosing a care home is a big decision and people need to know that the essential care needs of their loved ones are met. That’s why we work with our residents and their families to ensure that every person in our care has a tailored, individual Personal Support Plan. No two people are the same so there can never be one single care solution. We believe that as every resident is unique they should be treated as such. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all option, our staff take time to find out what each and every person loves so they can deliver the care and support residents need to continue to live fulfilled and valuable lives.”

Borough Care’s homes also receive positive feedback on the leading care home review website - carehome.co.uk.  Shepley House has a review score of 9.7 out of 10 and an average rating of 4.7 out of 5.  Comments from family members of Shepley House residents posted on the site include:

“The staff are so kind and care passionately about the residents.”

“The facilities are bright and cheerful, with plenty of activities.”

“The care the home provided for my mother has been without a flaw.”

“The carers certainly deserve their name, as nothing is too much trouble for both residents and visitors.”
