Become a Dementia Friend with Sanctuary Care

13 February 2017

The team and residents at a Sanctuary Care home in Greenwich have set themselves a mission to make their local community as dementia friendly as possible.

People are being invited to Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home, to learn about the small things they can do to make a big difference to the lives of people living with dementia on Wednesday 15 February, 6pm – 7.30pm.

The Franklin Place home is hosting a Dementia Friends session, an Alzheimer’s Society initiative that will not only provide people with an understanding of dementia but also show them the simple things they can do to support those living with dementia.

The Sanctuary Care home’s manager Cecilia Agadzi said:

“So many people live with dementia and for some reason there is sometimes a real stigma around the subject and we want to quash this. Dementia should be talked about and those living with dementia or caring for someone with dementia should be supported by local people, so we hope as many people pop along to our free Dementia Friends session.”

For those wishing to attend the address is: Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home, Franklin Place, Greenwich, London SE13 7NJ.
