Invatech Health Ltd

Invatech Health specialises in the creation and development of Innovative healthcare solutions. Invatech Health has brought together an expert team of healthcare professionals and developers to solve the problem of medicine management in care homes through proven technology.

Digital technology is now being widely introduced across the NHS and private healthcare sector to transform and enable the optimisation of patient orientated care. It is against this background that Invatech Health has developed a digital medication management solution for care homes called the Proactive Care System (PCS). Invatech’s system is unique in that it links the care home and pharmacy in real time and securely shares resident data. Having one shared medication record for residents enables nurses, carers, and pharmacists to have a complete picture of what is prescribed, dispensed and actually administered and thus an enhanced level of care can be provided.

Independent evaluation by Cardiff University has further highlighted that the PCS eliminates 21 out of 23 most common paper system driven medicines errors and also enables a 55% reduction in the value of care homes returned medicines to Pharmacies and a 22% reduction in medicines overstocks.

Recent research has also shown that a typical care home of circa 40 placements will allocate 350 hours of staff time to medicines management tasks per month such as following up prescription queries, ordering and booking in medicines, dealing with returns and administration to residents. The PCS typically saves 65 hours of staff time per month which can then be redirected towards resident focused activities.

Invatech Health has recently introduced a new analytical tool designed for care home groups, the Beacon Med Score, which assigns individual care homes a single performance score for medicines management by analysing seventeen operational and stock related activities. This allows senior managers the ability to set targets and compare and benchmark performance between services. With three “mouse clicks” senior managers can drill down and identify which home, which activity and which member of staff needs to be supported to make improvements.

Ashleigh at Bethany Care Home in Gwent   explains how easy it is to use PCS to help her   with the management of residents’ medicines.

The Proactive Care System was the winner of   the 2016 Health Services Journal Award for Improving Care through Technology. It is the only proven system for care homes that significantly enables and empowers care home organisations, managers, nurses, carers and pharmacists to work collaboratively to deliver a high quality, safe and efficient medicines management service for residents.

Remarkable Lives
Our Memory-sharing App and Care Platform have been co-designed with care staff, older people and families. Combining technology and reminiscence, Remarkable Lives is easy to use, digitises information and activity, saves time and money, fulfils CQC outcomes, and enhances health and wellbeing by putting human stories at the heart of care.

It's a care passport, so the next person you meet on your journey through later life - a carer, nurse, therapist, doctor - will know much more about who you are; much more than a collection of symptoms and tasks.

A problem in two parts
We identified two issues that impact wellbeing and our chances of ageing healthily:
  1. We have medical records, but there is no equivalent record that captures our personal life history – what makes us who we are.
  2. We have social media to document our lives in the present, but there is none that chronicles our life story from the beginning.
The result?
  • Loss of memories
  • Reduced engagement and empathy
  • Increased loneliness and social isolation
  • Low caregiver motivation and retention
  • Duplication of tasks and arduous form-filling for healthcare teams
Our connected solution

Remarkable Lives: a public app for saving & sharing memories

  • Saves memories on a personal timeline of photos, audio and video
  • Connects family and friends
  • Puts life stories on the record

Remarkable Care: a care platform powered by life stories

  • Digitises information and activity
  • Brings families and care staff together
  • Improves the care management process
  • Fulfills regulatory requirements
  • Saves time and money
