Short stay and respite
We can provide, when vacancies allow, for short stay and respite care in order to be as flexible as possible in meeting individual needs.

We also positively encourage potential residents to stay with us for a week or two in Clara Nehab House to sample life in the home before making a long term commitment to permanent care. This period allows both the prospective resident and ourselves the opportunity to familiarise with each other and the surroundings.

Similarly, we can provide respite care for those who themselves or their carers need a short break before returning home. This can be on a 'one-off' or planned regular basis.

We are also pleased to offer rehabilitation stays to those who have been in hospital and are recovering from illness and/or surgery, or who simply need a break before returning home.

Permanent care
We encourage potential residents, wherever possible, to stay with us before making a commitment to permanent care. It is a momentous, often life-changing decision to leave oneís own home, give up elements of independence and enter a residential home as a permanent resident and a short stay is extremely helpful to most people contemplating this step. It allows a person to consider if they have chosen the right home for them and even if residential care is the right step for them.

All permanent residents will have a review, usually after the first six weeks when the care plan will be reviewed with them, their families and others who are involved in their care. At this point the decision will usually be jointly made regarding permanent residence, having explored any outstanding issues and concerns that we may have or the resident, or family members may have. It is important that any decisions regarding your property, rented or owned, are not taken before this point.

You will want to bring with you all of your personal clothing and other possessions which are important to you such as photographs, pictures, special ornaments and trinkets.

It is important to make your room as homely and personal as possible and whilst we are quite happy for individuals to bring items of furniture from home this is where space permits and providing fire requirements are met.
