Focus Birmingham is a specialist charity providing expert support, advice and information to anyone in the Birmingham area affected by sight loss. We also work with people with other disabilities. And because sight loss and disability affects family, friends and carers, we work with them too.

Community Services
The Focus Birmingham community services team offers a vital source of support, information and advice to people who are experiencing single or dual sensory impairment, that is to say sight loss, possibly combined with hearing loss.

Day Services
Our day services teams work with adults from the age of nineteen upwards, with no upper age limit, to deliver stimulating programmes of activities which are tailored to the needs of the individual. We specialise in working with people with visual impairment and other complex needs and providing appropriate support so that each person can achieve their full potential.

Residential Services
Focus Birmingham currently delivers residential care and support services from locations in Kings Norton (Selly Oak Road) and Erdington (Beech House). The service provides 24-hour care and support to adults who have a visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities and other associated complex needs.

Low Vision Services
Our low vision centre provides a comprehensive range of services enabling people to use their vision to the greatest potential. Those services are delivered in a relaxed community setting where the size of our team (there are fourteen of us in total) means that we have the time to spend with people to fully assess their needs. Our services extend beyond the obvious (prescriptions for spectacles, the provision of aids and so forth) to include rehabilitation and emotional support, offering a joined-up approach to meet an individualís particular needs.

Our Homes
Our homes in Kings Norton (Selly Oak Road) and Erdington (Beech House) provide 24-hour care and support to adults who have a visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities and other associated complex needs. Both Selly Oak Road and Beech House are attractive detached properties located in pleasant suburban neighbourhoods, within easy reach of local amenities.
